Suggest you join the International DN Ice Yacht Racing Assn. for 1 year to get their book Think Ice! It shows how to sharpen runners using a jig and belt sander. Recently a fellow in Slippery Rock, PA told me that he uses a sharpening stone, not sander, to avoid damage to the runners.
