Response to some possibilities:

Hi,
Thanks for responding to my first post. My next trip out WITH battens was much for exciting with the boat sail catching wind and acting as it is supposed to. The the past two days my son and I have been able to reach speeds of twenty mph or so, despite having very poor runners that are loose and as you said, probably fighting each other:(

Now I need to redesign the runners. The problem is basic frame attachment of the runners is through a verticle 4" tal by one inch dia. pipe that has two large "set" screws to hold the pipe that fits inside that holds the runner. I am struggling with how to devise a longer runner that will hold and not pivot, with just this simple one inch verticle pipe as the attachment. The boat as it is now, is barely manageable in 15 mph winds and slips a lot. Sarns runners are out of the question given a $520 price tag on their web page If I can figure out how to get a longer runner footprint held only by the 4" tall vertical pipe...I will be in business. As much as I search the net tho, there seem to be few designs to look at. I may have to redesign the whole rear runner assembly somehow. I can take a pic of the current totally inadequate setup, if anyone thinks they might have some ideas
Thanks for responding.
Tom
