I've been using old downhill skis, mounted below a plywood deck, and my windsurfing rigs for power for years. I've had a lot of good sessions with my designs, and I'm continuing to improve and refine them. There are also severeal manufacturers of snow and ice sailing equipment for windsurfers. I don't know if a standard boat-style rig would work in snow- you need to be able to push the thing a little in deep snow. Given enough wind, my size (6'2", 250 lbs.) isn't a problem. The biggest problem I can see, other than getting things moving, is spinout. Snow does not behave like water, and traditional sterring methods may not work as intended. I'll welcome any requests for more detailed information...Rick
