I live in Seattle and have sailed for 30 years. I've seen the photos in Woodenboat of single seaters with the ice wear patterns on the helmut. Fortunately I don't live where it's cold enough, long enough to to do this type of sailing.
Since I see 2 seaters mentioned, and I will be in Brattleboro, VT over Christmas this year, I thought I might be close enough to someone that has a two seater and would be willing to act as a guide/trainer for a few hours of iceboating using a two seater. If they thought in a few hours I could be trusted with a single sail, that would be a plus, but not a requirement.
I would be happy to provide a deposit and we can negotiate an hourly or day rate, as makes sense. I'm willing to drive a fair distance (4 hours?) to meet someone.
